## Synopsis

Love for Rent (Kiralık Aşk) (2015-2017) is a Turkish romantic comedy drama series created by Melda Perahya Yalçın, Müge Turalı Pak and Mehmetcan Yüksel for Star TV. Defne Topal (Elçin Sangu) is forced to accept a desperate offer when her brother falls into debt and is held captive: she must make Ömer İplikçi (Barış Arduç), a wealthy shoe designer who runs his own company, fall in love with her and marry her. Ömer's world is full of rivals, family pressure and a household that resists the match, and Defne's scheme keeps tangling her in the lives of the people around them, including Sinan Karakaya (Salih Bademci) and Ömer's mother Neriman (Nergis Kumbasar). The series unfolds as a long serialized run of 69 episodes across two seasons, built from escalating complications, misunderstandings and small domestic confrontations rather than standalone cases. Its tone mixes breezy comedy with melodramatic emotion, sincere longing and class-tinged friction in glossy Istanbul settings. Fans of Turkish romantic dramas, Ugly Betty and Crazy Rich Asians will find resonance in its fake-engagement premise, wealthy family setting and slow-burn romantic arc. It is a classic Turkish television romance, watched for its charm, its heartfelt leads and the pleasure of a bargain that becomes genuine feeling.
