## Synopsis

Hawkeye (1994-1995) is an American syndicated historical adventure western created by Stephen J. Cannell. Based on characters from James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales, the one-season series follows Natty Bumppo, a woodsman known as Hawkeye, played by Lee Horsley, alongside his Native American companion Chingachgook, played by Rodney A. Grant. Lynda Carter plays Elizabeth Shields, a trading post owner, and Garwin Sanford plays Captain Taylor Shield. Set in 1755 Hudson Valley, New York, during the French and Indian War, the series centers on Fort Bennington and the soldiers, settlers and traders living in its shadow. Each episode is built from the everyday dangers of the border: skirmishes in the forest, tense dealings with colonial officers, and threats moving through the wilderness around the fort.
