## Synopsis

The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries (1984) is a single-season American animated mystery series created by Tom Ruegger, Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for ABC, produced by Hanna-Barbera Cartoons. Across 26 half-hour episodes, Shaggy Rogers (voiced by Casey Kasem) and the dog Scooby-Doo, voiced by Don Messick, continue the Scooby and Scrappy-Doo format, now occasionally joined by Daphne Blake (Heather North), Fred Jones (Frank Welker) and Velma Dinkley (Marla Frumkin) to investigate spooky-looking happenings. The engine is simple and repeatable: a sinister costumed figure haunts a town, a mystery takes shape, and the friends chase clues, dodge slapstick traps and bicker over snacks until the culprit is unmasked as an ordinary person in disguise. Each self-contained case follows a case-of-the-week structure that suits young viewers. The tone is gentle, goofy and comforting, with spooky atmosphere kept safely harmless. Fans of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, The Real Ghostbusters and Animaniacs will find the same blend of cartoon chases, friendly teamwork and cozy scares.
