## Synopsis

Modus is a Swedish crime thriller series created by Peter Thorsboe and Mai Brostrøm for TV4, airing across two seasons and sixteen forty-five-minute episodes between 2015 and 2017. Psychologist and profiler Inger Johanne Vik (Melinda Kinnaman) is drawn into a string of disturbing deaths during a snowy Christmas season, and she finds her own autistic daughter Linnea (Lily Wahlsteen) pulled into the investigation along with her. Her path crosses with Ingvar Nyman (Henrik Norlén) of the national police force Rikskrim, a partnership built on unease and mutual suspicion. The engine of the series is the slow, methodical work of reading killers' minds while protecting a family under strain. Each season is a continuing serialized case rather than a case of the week, and the story unfolds in measured, frost-bitten scenes. The tone is bleak, cold and psychologically tense, with dread gathering around each new body. Set in contemporary Sweden, the show carries the austere mood of Nordic noir. Fans of The Killing, The Bridge and Criminal Minds will find resonance in its profiler-driven darkness.
