## Synopsis

Permanent Roommates (2014-2023) is an Indian streaming sitcom created by Arunabh Kumar for Prime Video, produced by The Viral Fever. Tanya (Nidhi Singh) and Mikesh Chaudary (Sumeet Vyas) have been in a long distance relationship for three years, and the series follows them as they face the prospect of getting married. The engine of the show is the everyday friction of two people who have grown used to living apart, now forced to share a home, merge habits, and answer to families who have opinions on every decision. Each episode is built around small domestic situations and awkward family encounters, with Mikesh's relatives and Tanya's household supplying much of the comic pressure. Across three seasons and seventeen half-hour episodes, the show moves at a light, conversational pace, with its focus staying on the couple rather than on a larger plot. The tone is warm, breezy and wry, with a sincere affection for its characters and an urban millennial sensibility about careers, money and expectations. Set in contemporary urban India, it is a romantic comedy in the vein of modern Indian web sitcoms and relationship comedies, and fans of Mixed Doubles and Tanha will find familiar comic pleasures here.
