## Synopsis

Class (2016) is a British science fiction drama created by Patrick Ness for BBC Three. Set at Coal Hill School in London, the series is a spin-off from the Doctor Who universe, and it follows a group of sixth form students, including Charlie Smith (Greg Austin), Tanya Adeola (Vivian Oparah), Ram Singh (Fady Elsayed) and Matteusz Andrzejewski (Jordan Renzo), as they try to keep up with classes, friendships and family pressures while intrusions from space and time keep breaking into their everyday lives. The engine of the show is the tension between ordinary adolescence and cosmic danger: each episode pits the students against an alien incursion or a temporal rift, and the adults who might help them are not always trustworthy. Teachers such as Miss Quill (Katherine Kelly) and April MacLean (Sophie Hopkins) sit at the edge of the mystery. The series runs for a single eight-episode season and was canceled after it aired. Its tone blends coming-of-age awkwardness with bursts of visceral peril, and its look is that of a grounded British school drama. Fans of Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Misfits will find resonance in its mix of youthful ensemble drama and genre menace.
