## Synopsis

Preacher (2016-2019) is an American supernatural comic book adaptation created by Sam Catlin, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg for AMC. Dominic Cooper plays Jesse Custer, a small-town Texas preacher who becomes host to an unholy child born of an angel and a demon, and sets out to force the almighty to answer for abandoning the world. Ruth Negga plays Tulip O'Hare, his gun-toting former lover, and Joseph Gilgun plays Cassidy, a hard-drinking Irish vampire who becomes his closest friend and most unreliable companion. Their engine is a restless pursuit across a rural and frontier-flavored America, where each episode brings a new set of bounties, hunters, and supernatural threats that push the quest forward. Across four seasons the story stays one continuing arc, with a road-trip shape giving way to a more settled middle and a darker push toward the end. The atmosphere mixes profane gonzo humor with genuine theological yearning, brutal violence, and sincere moments of faith and loyalty. Set in a contemporary American South that feels lawless and mythic, it recalls Good Omens, Lucifer, and Constantine for fans who like irreverent religion, graphic supernatural action, and a flawed hero searching for meaning.
