## Synopsis

Master of None (2015-2021) is an American comedy-drama series created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang for Netflix. Aziz Ansari plays Dev Shah, a thirty-year-old New York actor who wants stable work, a meaningful relationship and a clear sense of who he is, while facing the everyday obstacles of auditions, first big jobs and uncertain romance. Lena Waithe plays his close friend Denise Watkins, and Naomi Ackie appears as Alicia Jackson, with both actors anchoring the show's warm, candid friendships. The series is built as loosely connected half-hour episodes, many of them standalone vignettes that stray into subjects such as immigrant family expectations, rigid gender politics and the strange rhythms of city life. Across three seasons and twenty-five episodes, its engine is the search for purpose, rendered with wry observation and sharp, reflective dialogue. Its tone is witty, sincere and quietly melancholic, with moments of genuine warmth. Set in contemporary New York, it feels in the vein of Girls, Insecure and Seinfeld, offering a grounded, modern portrait of a generation figuring out adulthood on its own terms.
