## Synopsis

Summer Nude (2013) is a Japanese romance drama created for Fuji TV, a single-season limited run of eleven roughly hour-long episodes. Asahi Mikuritsu (Tomohisa Yamashita), a photographer who once dreamed of fame and now films weddings and school events in a seaside town, is drawn back into the orbit of Natsuki Chiyohara (Karina), a Tokyo restaurant manager who arrives as a chef at House of Sea. The engine is quiet: two people with a shared past, each still carrying a broken romance, testing whether a new closeness can grow without repeating old pain. Their days move through kitchen shifts, small coastal streets, and ordinary studio work, while Asahi's former junior classmate Hanae Taniyama (Erika Toda) harbors feelings for him that complicate the drift between them. Ryo Katsuji and Masataka Kubota fill out the local circle of friends and colleagues. The tone is wistful and soft-lit, a contemplative slow burn that prizes glances and small gestures over melodrama. Viewers who enjoy Tokyo Love Story and Last Friends, or who like quiet adult romance rooted in a specific coastal town, will find resonance here. Set in contemporary Japan, it is a gentle, melancholic love story about second chances.
