## Synopsis

Oh My Venus (2015-2016) is a South Korean romantic comedy created by Kim Hyung-suk for KBS2. Dumped by her boyfriend of fifteen years for gaining weight, a lawyer named Kang Ju-eun (Shin Min-a) hires a hotshot personal trainer, Kim Young-ho, who also goes by John Kim (So Ji-sub), to get in shape and turn her life around. The engine of the series is her push to rebuild her body and her confidence while the trainer's own secrets and the pull of a growing attraction complicate every session. Its sixteen hour-long episodes move through gym sessions, office politics at a Seoul law firm, and the friendships that surround both leads, including a rival suitor played by Jung Gyu-woon. The story is a single continuing arc rather than a case-of-the-week format, and its tone blends sweet romance with sharp workplace comedy and moments of genuine emotional vulnerability about body image and self-worth. Fans of Crash Landing on You, Hotel del Luna and Cinderella and Four Knights will find resonance in its warm, witty register and its makeover-driven romance set in contemporary Seoul.
