## Synopsis

Golden Life (2015-2018) is a Hungarian crime drama series created by Roope Lehtinen and Mikko Pöllä for HBO Europe. Con man Attila Miklósi (Szabolcs Thuróczy) tries to abandon his life of hustles after his father's dying words shame him, but he is steadily dragged back into the underworld by his demanding wife Janka (Eszter Ónodi) and his boss Endre Hollós (Zsolt Anger). The engine of the show is the tension between a man's need to build an honest life and the money, pressure and loyalties that keep pulling him toward crime. Each season follows his deals, cons and debts in contemporary Budapest, while his teenage son Márk (Renátó Olasz) begins to follow him into the criminal world, forcing Attila to ask whether he can protect the boy from the path he chose. Told across three seasons of eight episodes each, the series is a serialized, character-driven saga rather than a case-of-the-week procedural. Its tone is tense and grounded, with moments of wry humor and a lingering melancholy about family obligation. Fans of Breaking Bad, Narcos and Better Call Saul will find resonance in its portrait of a compromised man sliding deeper into crime.
