## Synopsis

London Spy (2015) is a British miniseries created by Tom Rob Smith for BBC Two. Ben Whishaw plays Danny, a shy young man who lives for the London club scene, and Edward Holcroft plays Alex, a charming figure whose life seems to hide far more than it shows. Their chance romance, sparked in nightlife's glare, grows into a dangerous puzzle once Alex suddenly disappears and Danny is pulled into a world of intelligence officers and buried secrets. Jim Broadbent appears as Scottie, a figure whose calm authority hints at the institutional machinery working behind the scenes. Across five hour-long episodes, the story alternates between smoky club floors and the cold corridors of the Secret Intelligence Service, building a slow, claustrophobic dread in which every new contact may be a threat. The tone is melancholic and paranoid, with moments of tenderness between the two leads giving the thriller an emotional core. Fans of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Night Manager will find resonance in its patient espionage, its distrust of official stories, and its focus on a single missing man as the key to a larger conspiracy.
