## Synopsis

Method (2015-2025) is a Russian crime thriller series created for Channel One and set in contemporary Russia. Konstantin Khabensky plays Rodion Meglin, a secretive, solitary investigator whose methods remain largely unknown, and Paulina Andreeva plays Yesenia Steklova, the recent graduate who becomes his trainee. The engine of the series is Yesenia's dawning realization that Meglin's method rests on his own instinct for the minds of killers, a sense that lets him decide which maniacs he is permitted to eliminate, which he watches over, and which he saves. Each season moves through a succession of grim, investigative cases, with the crimes growing darker and the pressure on the young heroine building as she is pushed into working alone. The show spans three seasons across ten years of broadcast, with its audience ratings holding steady in the high sevens. Its tone is bleak, tense and psychologically heavy, with a claustrophobic, dread-filled atmosphere that rests on the moral ambiguity of its lead. Viewers who admire the psychological intensity of Mindhunter, the moral murk of True Detective and the grim procedural weight of The Killing will find resonance here.
