## Synopsis

11.22.63 (2016) is an American limited series created for Hulu, adapted from the Stephen King novel. Across eight long episodes, English teacher Jake Epping (James Franco) steps through a portal in a Maine diner into 1958 and then keeps returning to a pre-1963 America, determined to stop Lee Harvey Oswald and prevent the Kennedy assassination. His plans keep colliding with the life he builds, especially his bond with the warm, complicated Sadie Dunhill (Sarah Gadon), and with the watchful, dangerous Al Templeton (Chris Cooper), the diner owner who first sends him back. Each stretch of the story is made of careful preparation, fragile identities, and tense encounters in dusty small towns and Dallas streets, where every small change threatens to ripple outward. The mood is nostalgic yet dread-filled, with wistful romance undercut by the looming national tragedy. It is a serialized prestige drama with a historical texture, and fans of Outlander, The Man in the High Castle and Dark will find resonance in its blend of time travel, alternate history and emotional stakes.
