## Synopsis

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (2016-2017) is an American crime drama series created by Erica Messer for CBS. It follows the specialized International Division of the FBI, led by team leader Jack Garrett (Gary Sinise), whose agents are sent overseas to hunt criminals and rescue Americans who find themselves in danger while abroad. Alongside Garrett, the team includes Matthew Simmons (Daniel Henney), Russ Montgomery (Tyler James Williams), Mae Jarvis (Annie Funke) and Clara Seger (Alana de la Garza), whose skills are tested in unfamiliar cities and cultures. The engine of each episode is a fresh case: an abduction, a kidnapping or a dangerous manhunt that must be solved against the clock while the agents navigate foreign police, language barriers and hostile terrain. Each hour is largely self-contained, following a case-of-the-week structure that gives the show a brisk, tense rhythm. The series is a spin-off of the long-running Criminal Minds franchise and carries its procedural DNA into a more globe-trotting format. Its tone is urgent and suspenseful, with a steady undercurrent of moral seriousness about victims and the cost of violence. Fans of Criminal Minds, Hawaii Five-0 and The Night Manager will find familiar pleasures in its blend of team dynamics and international intrigue. Over two seasons of 26 episodes, the show aired as a canceled network procedural.
