## Synopsis

Bandits Cannot Rule The World (2015-2021) is a Turkish crime drama series created for atv, a six-season serialized mafia saga built around Hizir Cakirbeyli, a young man who enters the underworld and rises to become a mob boss. Hayriye Cakirbeyli (Sabina Toziya) and Hakan Karsak as Temel Kalkandere anchor the family and loyalty web around him, while Tuna Orhan plays Servet Karademir, a figure whose ambitions keep pressing against Hizir's criminal territory. Each episode grows out of the constant pull between criminal power and the family ties that power strains. The series runs long, with episodes around two and a quarter hours and a continuing storyline across 199 episodes, so its pleasures are the accumulating alliances, betrayals and street level dealings rather than standalone cases. Its tone is brooding, intense and melodramatic, with a fatalistic sense that every gain costs something. Fans of Turkish crime sagas such as Kurtlar Vadisi, along with the cutthroat family politics of Peaky Blinders and Gomorrah, will find resonance here. The series was canceled after six seasons.
