## Synopsis

Adam Ruins Everything (2015-2019) is an American comedic docuseries created by Adam Conover for truTV. Host Adam Conover, joined on camera by Emily Axford and River Butcher, takes apart everyday assumptions about money, food, school, and consumer life. Each half-hour episode is built as a lecture delivered directly to camera, broken up by sketches, staged bits, and interviews with experts who explain the history and science behind how things actually work. The engine is simple: a popular belief gets stated, then dismantled piece by piece with data and a little mischief. Across three seasons and around sixty-four episodes, the format stays consistent, with a brisk, irreverent, and cheerfully sardonic tone that keeps the facts lively rather than dry. It works for viewers who like a host with a quick wit, like the research-heavy satire of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and the fact-driven playfulness of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. The show is best suited to a casual viewer who wants to learn something surprising and laugh while doing it, with each episode standing on its own. Its canceled run leaves the premise open-ended rather than resolved.
