## Synopsis

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (1996-2003) is a US family sitcom created by Nell Scovell for ABC and The WB. Melissa Joan Hart plays Sabrina Spellman, a high school student who discovers on her sixteenth birthday that she has magical powers. She lives in the fictional town of Westbridge, Massachusetts with her 600-year-old aunts Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick) and a sardonic talking cat named Salem. Sabrina's engine is simple and familiar: she wants a normal teenage life with friends, crushes and school, and her spells keep backfiring, complicating dates, exams and friendships. Each episode is a self-contained case of the week built around a mishap, with recurring classmates such as Harvey Kinkle and Libby Chessler giving the show its ensemble warmth. Running for seven seasons, the series keeps a light, breezy register with gentle comedy, wholesome family bonds and cozy small-town charm. Its lighthearted tone and episodic structure make it a comfort rewatch for fans of Bewitched and Charmed, and the sitcom suits anyone who enjoys a magical teen comedy after school.
