## Synopsis

Frontier (2016-2018) is a Canadian historical action adventure series created by Peter Blackie, Rob Blackie and Brad Peyton for Discovery. Jason Momoa stars as Declan Harp, a ruthless trapper and fighter who wants to seize a share of the lucrative fur trade, while Landon Liboiron plays Michael Smyth, a rival with his own ambitions and divided loyalties. Alun Armstrong plays Lord Benton, a powerful figure whose interests run through the mighty Hudson's Bay Company, and Jessica Matten plays Sokanon, a character whose presence reflects the indigenous communities caught in the middle. Across three seasons of six episodes each, the series is a serialized story in which every rivalry, supply run and betrayal pushes the fight for control of the trade forward. Set in 18th-century North America, its frontier is a harsh landscape of wilderness camps, trading posts and dangerous rivers. The tone is gritty, brutal and propulsive, with a grounded sense of survival and greed. Fans of Hell on Wheels, Deadwood and Black Sails will find resonance in its rugged frontier power struggles and its violent, commerce-driven conflicts.
