## Synopsis

Dark Net (2016-2017) is a American documentary series created by Mati Kochavi for Showtime. Narrated by Lauren Terp, the two-season docuseries of sixteen half-hour episodes follows the furthest reaches of the internet and the people who frequent its hidden corners. Rather than chasing a single case, each episode moves through a different slice of the online underworld, following the strange and sometimes disturbing communities that thrive where anonymity removes ordinary limits. The engine of the show is curiosity about what people do when they believe no one is watching, presented through concrete digital spaces, the rituals of their participants, and the consequences that spill into everyday life. Its tone is provocative and cautionary, with a steady, reflective narration that treats its subjects with unease rather than sensationalism. Set in the present-day digital age, the series suits viewers who enjoy investigative nonfiction about technology and society. Fans of Cyberspace, The Social Dilemma and Making a Murderer will find resonance in its blend of exposé and unsettling exploration.
