## Synopsis

Hunting Hitler (2015-2018) is an American History network documentary series created by Jeff Daniels, a three-season docuseries of roughly twenty-five episodes. Rather than dramatizing a story, it follows a group of investigators who take up an FBI cold case that has sat dormant for seventy years, pursuing the question of whether Adolf Hitler survived World War II. Each episode is built from the concrete work of such an inquiry: retrieving archival files, interviewing witnesses and experts, chasing leads across continents, and weighing physical and documentary evidence against long-circulating rumors of an escape. The engine is the hunt itself, with the team's momentum carrying each installment toward a conclusion that the format keeps tantalizingly open. The mood is brisk, skeptical and investigative, with a conspiracy-tinged undercurrent that rewards viewers who enjoy true crime and historical puzzle-solving. Its setting moves from the aftermath of the Second World War through the present-day search, and the material stays tied to real archives and real claims. Fans of The Staircase, The Last Dance and Ancient Aliens will find the same appetite for evidence, speculation and documentary investigation. Without being sensational in tone, the series keeps its focus on a famous unresolved myth and the methods used to test it.
