## Synopsis

And Then There Were None (2015) is a British BBC One miniseries and a three-episode adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel, a period murder mystery. Ten strangers are lured to an isolated rock off the Devon coast by the mysterious hosts Mr. and Mrs. U.N. Owen, and the group is soon cut off from the mainland by bad weather. Charles Dance plays Justice Lawrence Wargrave, a retired judge whose stern authority frames the group's suspicion, while Maeve Dermody plays Vera Claythorne, a governess carrying a secret of her own. Aidan Turner plays Philip Lombard, a gentleman adventurer, and Sam Neill appears as General John MacArthur. The engine of the story is a slow, claustrophobic puzzle: each guest is accused of a buried crime, and each death follows the ten little soldier boys nursery rhyme hanging in every room.
