## Synopsis

Vecinos (2009-2016) is a Colombian and Mexican telenovela-style comedy drama created by Germán Porras for Caracol TV. Its engine is a simple reversal of fortune: Oscar Leal, an irresponsible taxi driver who resists compromise and loves parties, wins the lottery and moves into a luxurious apartment building. There he meets Tatiana, an attractive business executive, and their clashing worlds generate romantic friction, rivalries, and misunderstandings that play out in the building's neighborly orbit. Robinson Díaz leads the cast as Oscar, with Fernando Solórzano, Flora Martínez, and Patricia Polanco among the principal players. Its episodes are built around everyday comic mishaps, class-tinged romance, and the small social dramas of residents who share walls and gossip. The single season runs 209 episodes, so the story unfolds at soap pace with long-running storylines rather than self-contained cases. The tone is breezy and campy, with melodramatic swings played for laughs and a warm, sentimental core. Fans of Ugly Betty and Yo soy Betty, la fea will find familiar pleasures in its telenovela rhythms, class-crossing romance, and lighthearted sincerity about love and ambition.
