## Synopsis

Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo (2013-2015) is a Japanese television romantic comedy created by Koto Nagata for Fuji TV. Kotoko Aihara (Honoka Yahagi) is a cheerful but not-so-bright high school girl who falls instantly for the handsome, brilliant Naoki Irie (Yuki Furukawa), only to be turned down with the cutting remark that he doesn't like dumb women. Her hope is revived when an earthquake wrecks her family home and she and her father move in with a friend's household, where Naoki also lives. The engine of the show is her relentless, sometimes absurd campaign to win him over while navigating a crowded home with his family and her own rivals, including the polished Kinnosuke Ikezawa (Yuki Yamada). Each episode is built from awkward misunderstandings, flustered confessions and comic set pieces, and the story unfolds across two seasons of sixteen episodes each. Set in contemporary Tokyo, the series carries a breezy, sweet and playful tone, the classic shoujo romance mood of Boys Over Flowers and Hana Yori Dango. Fans of those titles and of Kimi ni Todoke will find the same mix of charm and heart here.
