## Synopsis

The Pact (2015-2016) is a Polish political crime drama series created for HBO Polska. Investigative journalist Piotr Grodecki (Marcin Dorociński) pursues corruption and scandal at the highest levels of government, and each episode pushes his reporting deeper into the tangle of power, money and private secrets. Alongside him, journalist Monika Szewczyk (Alicja Dąbrowska) and police information specialist Weronika Zawadzka (Marta Nieradkiewicz) help drive the investigation, while his brother Daniel Grodecki (Jacek Poniedziałek), a former finance director, is drawn into the fallout. The series runs for two seasons of six episodes each, a serialized political thriller in which one continuing investigation unfolds across the whole run. Its atmosphere is tense and morally grey, with a focus on newsroom pressure, the personal toll of exposing powerful people, and the compromises that tangle loyalty and ambition. Fans of House of Cards and Spotlight will find resonance in its focus on journalism, political power and the price of truth. Its engine is simple: a reporter wants the story, the powerful want it buried, and the people closest to him pay the cost.
