## Synopsis

Great Barrier Reef with David Attenborough (2015-2016) is a British nature documentary miniseries created for BBC One and produced by Atlantic Productions. Presented by naturalist and broadcaster David Attenborough, the three-episode run follows his return to the Great Barrier Reef, the same place he first visited in 1957. Rather than retracing old footage, the programme uses the latest underwater and aerial filming techniques to reach animals and behaviours that were out of reach before, from the reef's coral structures to the whales and fish that move through its waters. Each hour is built around a set of concrete encounters, with Attenborough narrating in his familiar measured voice as the camera lingers on the living details of the ecosystem. The mood is awe-struck and gentle, with an undercurrent of concern about climate change and the fragility of coral. Fans of Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II and Our Planet will find the same wonder and patient observation here, scaled to a single natural wonder of the world. It suits families and anyone drawn to wildlife filmmaking.
