## Synopsis

Trapped (2015-2021) is an Icelandic national-television nordic noir series created by Baltasar Kormákur for RÚV. Ólafur Darri Ólafsson plays Andri Ólafsson, a police officer whose routine is upended when a body turns up in a small Icelandic village just as a major snowstorm cuts the region off from the rest of the world. Ilmur Kristjánsdóttir plays Hinrika Kristjánsdóttir, a local figure whose connections to the community complicate the case. Alongside them, Ingvar E. Sigurðsson plays Ásgeir, and the investigation pulls in a widening circle of residents whose loyalties and secrets surface as the roads stay buried. Each season is built around the slow, methodical work of gathering witnesses and checking alibis while the weather keeps everyone captive and suspicious. The story unfolds across a three-season run, with the murder mystery and its aftermath carrying the arc forward. The atmosphere is bleak, cold and watchful, with a sense of moral unease that grows as the isolation tightens. Fans of The Killing, The Bridge and Fortitude will find resonance in its brooding landscapes, insular community dynamics and patient, character-driven detective work.
