## Synopsis

Long Vacation (1996) is a Japanese romance drama series created by Eriko Kitagawa for Fuji Television. Minami, dumped by her fiancé Asakura on their wedding day, has nowhere to go, so she moves into the apartment of Sena, Asakura's former roommate and a pianist, played by Takuya Kimura. Tomoko Yamaguchi plays Minami, and the supporting cast includes Yutaka Takenouchi as Shinji Hayama, Izumi Inamori as Momoko Koishikawa, and Takako Matsu as Ryoko Okusawa. The engine of the story is the awkward, gradually warming bond between two people sharing a flat under circumstances neither chose. Episodes unfold through everyday routines, piano music, friendships, and the complications of an old romance still hanging in the air. Set in 1990s urban Japan, the series spans a single eleven-episode run and plays as a wistful, gentle romance with a breezy, comforting register. Fans of Tokyo Love Story and Love Story will find resonance in its blend of city romance and emotional warmth.
