## Synopsis

Sr. Avila (2013-2018) is a Mexican crime drama series created by Walter Slavich and Marcelo Slavich for HBO Latin America. Tony Dalton plays Roberto Avila, a family man who leads a double life as a professional hitman, and Nailea Norvind plays his wife Maria, whose household is kept in the dark about his work. Around them, Fernando Becerril as Sr. Moreira, Carlos Aragon as Ivan Alcazar, and Adrian Alonso as Emiliano Avila draw the family and its criminal orbit into constant friction. The engine of the show is the pressure of concealment: every contract Roberto takes threatens to expose the life he has built, and every domestic ritual carries the risk of discovery. Episodes build tension through sharp shifts between kitchen-table normalcy and violent professional jobs. Running across four seasons of ten to thirteen episodes, it is one continuing serialized story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is tense, bleak and claustrophobic, with a moral weight that lingers over each choice. Fans of Breaking Bad and Dexter will find resonance in its portrait of a respectable man corroded by his secret work, set in contemporary Mexico.
