## Synopsis

Poyraz Karayel (2015-2017) is a Turkish crime action drama series created by Ethem Özışık for Kanal D. Ex-cop Poyraz Karayel (İlker Kaleli), defamed and cut off from his son, is pulled into undercover duty inside the biggest mafia in Istanbul. His engine is simple and urgent: prove his worth, reach his child, and survive a criminal world where every loyalty is conditional. Aysegul Cilingir (Burçin Terzioğlu) and Bahri Umman (Musa Uzunlar) are among the principal figures whose allegiances shift around him, while Sadreddin Umman (Ali İl) embodies the mafia power structure he must penetrate. The show plays out across three seasons and 82 episodes, one continuing serialized story rather than standalone cases, with long episodes that build confrontations, betrayals and reversals. Set in present-day Istanbul, its atmosphere is gritty and tense, with a melodramatic streak of family longing and sacrifice. Fans of Sons of Anarchy and The Shield will find resonance in its blend of underworld power, cop divided loyalty and paternal stakes, and admirers of Behzat Ç. will recognize the Turkish crime tradition at its core.
