## Synopsis

Ajin (2016) is a Japanese seinen anime series produced by Polygon Pictures and broadcast on TBS. Set in present-day Japan, it follows a high school student who is killed in a traffic accident on his way home, only to be revived as an immortal known as an Ajin, with a price placed on his head. Kei Nagai, voiced by Mamoru Miyano, is hunted by government agencies and the public while struggling to understand what he has become. Alongside him, Kaito, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya, and Eriko Nagai, voiced by Aya Suzaki, shape the emotional stakes of his flight. Across two seasons of thirteen episodes each, the show builds from a single boy's survival into a wider conflict over fear, identity and institutional pursuit. Each episode mixes chase sequences, clinical investigation and sudden bursts of brutal gore. The tone is grim and tense, with a melancholic undercurrent and a steady sense of dread. Its atmosphere recalls Tokyo Ghoul and Parasyte, and fans of those titles and of dark supernatural seinen anime will find much to admire here.
