## Synopsis

Flaked is an American streaming comedy-drama created by Will Arnett and Mark Chappell for Netflix. Will Arnett stars as Chip, a self-styled life coach in a funky California beach enclave who is the go-to guy for personal insights but is blind to his own emotional baggage. Around him orbit his roommate Dennis (David Sullivan), the sharp-tongued London (Ruth Kearney) and the eccentric Cooler (George Basil), whose everyday entanglements keep pulling Chip into messes he cannot talk his way out of. Each half-hour episode follows the gap between the wisdom Chip hands out and the chaos of his own relationships, romance and friendships, with awkward social situations and sharp dialogue doing most of the work. The show unfolds as a single continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is wry, sardonic and sometimes cringe-inducing, with a laid-back, sun-bleached look that matches its seaside setting. Fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm, BoJack Horseman and Enlightened will find resonance in its satire of self-help culture and its flawed, lovable lead.
