## Synopsis

Splash Splash Love (2015) is a South Korean time slip romance miniseries created for MBC, a two-episode, one-hour limited series. High school student Jang Dan-bi, played by Kim Seul-gi, can travel anywhere on rainy days, and when the exam pressure becomes too much she steps into a puddle and lands in the Joseon period. There she meets the young King Yi Do, played by Yoon Doo-joon, who is struggling through drought and a spreading epidemic. Queen Sohun, played by Jin Ki-joo, and Che Ah-jik, played by Ahn Hyo-seop, add court intrigue and romantic tension around the royal palace. The engine of the story is the comic friction of a modern girl navigating Joseon customs, disguises and hidden identities while trying to find her way back. Episodes blend lighthearted fish out of water humor with a sincere, fate driven romance and a backdrop of national hardship. The tone is breezy and warm, with flashes of wistful longing as the lovers are pulled apart by time. Fans of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Mr. Sunshine will find resonance in its blend of historical costume drama and modern heroine sensibility.
