## Synopsis

Dagashi Kashi (2016-2018) is a Japanese animated slice of life comedy produced by feel. and Tezuka Productions for TBS. Based on the manga, it runs two seasons of twelve episodes each. Shikada Kokonotsu, voiced by Atsushi Abe, is a teenager who dreams of becoming a manga author but is expected to inherit his father's rural sweets shop. His plans are upended when Hotaru Shidare, voiced by Ayana Taketatsu, arrives from a famous confectionery company with the goal of recruiting his father and persuading Kokonotsu to take over the family business instead. The engine of the show is her persistent, odd campaign and his reluctant resistance, playing out across everyday shop life, neighborhood visits and the small rituals of the store.
