## Synopsis

Witch Craft Works (2014) is a Japanese anime romantic comedy series produced by J.C.STAFF and broadcast on TOKYO MX, AT-X and BS11, adapted from a seinen manga. The story follows the ordinary high school student Takamiya Honoka, whose seatmate is Kagari Ayaka, the school's most admired beauty. Their friendship is almost nonexistent, and any small exchange between them sets off jealous attacks from her fan club. The engine of the show is a secret: when a falling piece of the school building threatens Honoka, Kagari appears as a witch on a broom and reveals that her mission is to protect him, now openly rather than undercover. Each episode mixes everyday school life with magical mishaps, supernatural schemes, and growing awkward affection. The twelve-episode run is a single self-contained season with a light, breezy tone, playful and comforting. Fans of Rosario + Vampire and Magical Girl Raising Project will find a similar blend of supernatural premise and high school romance.
