## Synopsis

Roadies (2016) is a American single season Showtime dramedy created by Cameron Crowe. Its ten hour-long episodes follow a committed crew of touring roadies who set up stages, haul gear and keep rock bands running from city to city. Bill Hanson (Luke Wilson) leads the crew and Shelli Anderson (Carla Gugino) is a fiercely capable colleague, while Milo (Peter Cambor), Donna Mancini (Keisha Castle-Hughes) and Phil (Ron White) fill out the crew's tight circle. Wesley Mason (mgk) and Kelly Ann Mason (Imogen Poots) add tangled personal threads to the road. The engine of the show is the grind of the tour itself: late nights, broken equipment, volatile musicians and the romances and rivalries that grow among people who spend every day together. Each episode moves through the chaos of one stop after another, so the story builds through accumulating small crises rather than a single case. The tone is reckless, romantic and funny, with an undercurrent of melancholy about lives given over to music. Fans of Almost Famous, Vinyl and Entourage will find resonance in its backstage view of rock culture and its warm, bruised affection for the people who make the show go on.
