## Synopsis

Slasher (2016-2019) is an American horror anthology series created by Aaron Martin for Netflix and the Chiller network. Leslie Hope plays Judith Berry and Baraka Rahmani plays Saadia Jalalzai in a story that centers on Sarah Bennett, who returns with her husband Dylan to Waterbury, a sleepy community where a killer known as The Executioner murdered her parents thirty years earlier. The engine of each season is a string of gruesome murders staged around the seven deadly sins, with the killer's pattern pulling Sarah back into the center of the violence and forcing her to confront a past she assumed was buried. Detective Roberta Hanson (Lisa Berry) and other townspeople drift between suspicion and fear as each season unfolds its own mystery. The three seasons of eight episodes each form a serialized slasher saga with recurring threads rather than fully separate stories. The tone is tense, bloody and paranoid, with a glossy surface that gives the violence a stylish sheen. Fans of American Horror Story, Hannibal and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its blend of small town dread, serial killer méthode and buried secrets.
