## Synopsis

Captain Tsubasa J (1994-1995) is a Japanese animated sports series produced by Studio Comet and broadcast on Fuji Television, a single-season run of 47 episodes. It follows Tsubasa Ozora (voiced by Akari Hibino as a child and Nozomu Sasaki as a teen), a gifted young soccer player whose ambitions push him onto ever larger pitches, with Taro Misaki (Megumi Ogata as a kid, Akira Ishida as a teen) and Ryou Ishizaki (Kappei Yamaguchi) among the friends and rivals who share his drive. Each episode is built around matches, training sessions and tournament games, where raw talent, strategic teamwork and rivalries with fierce opponents decide who advances. The series adapts the original manga and adds material from the World Youth Saga, giving it an episodic sports rhythm with a cumulative growth arc. Its tone is earnest, sincere and hopeful, with the warmth of a kodomo show and a strong sense of friendship. Fans of Inazuma Eleven, Haikyu!! and Ace of Diamond will find the same youthful competitive spirit here. The production was suspended because of budget constraints, so the story ends abruptly and the run feels unfinished.
