## Synopsis

Addicted (2016) is a Chinese web drama romance series created by Chai Jidan for iQiyi, adapted from a novel. It follows high school students Bai Luoyin (Timmy Xu) and Gu Hai (Johnny Huang), whose emotional bond turns volatile once they discover they have become step-brothers after their parents' remarriage. Their tangled attraction plays out across school corridors, a shared household, and the jealousies of friends who keep getting pulled into their orbit, with You Qi (Lin Fengsong) and Yang Meng (Chen Wen) hovering nearby as rivals and confidants. Each episode is built from small confrontations, stolen moments, and escalating misunderstandings, giving the story a steady, emotionally charged pace over a single fifteen-episode season. The tone is intense and angst-driven, rooted in obsession, friendship, and the awkwardness of a blended family under one roof. Set in a contemporary Chinese city, it sits in the tradition of youth romance dramas and will appeal to viewers who enjoy the emotional storms of Heartstopper and the teen intimacy of Skam.
