## Synopsis

Flying Witch (2016) is a Japanese slice of life anime series produced by J.C.STAFF and broadcast on Nippon TV. Based on the manga by Chihiro Ishizuka, it follows Makoto Kowata (voiced by Minami Shinoda), a flighty witch-in-training who can fly on a broom but has no sense of direction. Her cousins Chinatsu Kuramoto (Eri Suzuki) and Kei Kuramoto (Shinsuke Sugawara) and her relative Akane Kowata (Kana Aoi) help her through her lessons, while the talking cat Chito (Ai Kayano) watches from the sidelines. The engine of the show is small and gentle: Makoto stumbles through spells, household chores, farm work and visits to neighbors, and each twelve-episode run is built from modest, self-contained days. The show runs as a single season of twelve episodes, a one-season run with a warm pace. Set in a rural Japanese countryside town, it is a cozy, whimsical, low-stakes series where magic blends into fields, orchards and seasonal meals. Fans of Kiki's Delivery Service, Natsume's Book of Friends and Laid-Back Camp will find resonance in its gentle, healing atmosphere.
