## Synopsis

Prison School (2015) is a Japanese anime comedy series produced by MBS and Robot Communications and adapted from the manga by Hiramoto Akira. Five male students, among them Kiyoshi Fujino (voiced in the cast as Taishi Nakagawa) and Takehito Morokuzu, find themselves enrolled at a former all-girls boarding school that has just admitted boys. The student council, led by Mari Kurihara (Hirona Yamazaki) and Chiyo Kurihara (Rena Takeda), jails the boys in a punitive institution called the prison on charges of peeping in the showers. Each episode is built from the boys' repeated, increasingly elaborate schemes to break out, while the council's stern guards keep tightening the rules. Across a single nine-episode season, the show runs on frantic set pieces, crude ecchi humor, and escalating slapstick, with a tone that swings between raunchy irreverence and goofy camaraderie. Its setting is a contemporary Japanese girls' academy turned into a jail, a school-set variation on the escape comedy. Fans of Ouran High School Host Club and Gantz will find resonance in its boisterous schoolboy energy and its willingness to push fan-service boundaries.
