## Synopsis

Resurrection: Ertugrul (2014-2019) is a Turkish historical action drama series created by Mehmet Bozdağ for TRT 1. Engin Altan Düzyatan plays Ertuğrul, a 13th-century Turkic chieftain whose nomadic tribe is pulled into wars against brutal Mongol invaders and treacherous rival factions. Kaan Taşaner plays his brother Gündoğdu, Serdar Gökhan plays the tribal leader Süleyman Şah, and Hülya Darcan plays the matriarch Hayme Ana, whose counsel anchors the family. The engine of the show is a tribe that must keep its honor and its land while navigating shifting alliances, battlefield ambushes and palace intrigue. Each episode is built from skirmishes, negotiations and romantic entanglements that carry the group toward establishing a principality. Spanning five seasons and roughly 150 long episodes, it unfolds as one continuing saga rather than standalone adventures. Set in thirteenth-century Anatolia, its landscapes of steppe, mountain and fortress give the drama a sweeping scale. The tone is earnest and sincere, mixing devotion, heroism and grief with sword-driven set pieces. Viewers who enjoy Kurulus: Osman, Vikings and Game of Thrones will find similar appetite for dynastic ambition and martial spectacle.
