## Synopsis

Wolf Creek (2016-2017) is an Australian anthology horror series created by Greg McLean and Tony Tilse for Stan. Across two seasons of six episodes each, the show follows different groups of travelers who cross paths with the charming, folksy serial killer Mick Taylor (John Jarratt) somewhere in the remote Australian outback. Each season introduces new principal characters, including Sullivan Hill (Dustin Clare) and Eve (Lucy Fry) in the first, and Rebecca (Tess Haubrich) and Brian (Matt Day) in the second, who must improvise survival when a roadside stop or a broken-down car turns into a trap. The engine is simple and brutal: ordinary people try to outwit a predator who knows the empty landscape better than they do, while detectives close in too slowly. Set in present-day rural Australia, the series builds a bleak, oppressive dread from endless red desert, sun-scorched silence and sudden bursts of violence. Its tone is grim and unflinching, with a true crime edge that recalls the menace of Mindhunter and the isolated survival tension of The Hunt. Fans of gritty outback horror will find its relentless pressure absorbing, though it is not for the faint hearted.
