## Synopsis

Ace Attorney (2016-2019) is a Japanese animated courtroom mystery series produced by A-1 Pictures and CloverWorks and broadcast on YTV, adapted from the Capcom visual novel franchise. Rookie defense lawyer Ryuuichi Naruhodou, voiced by Yuki Kaji, takes on cases that look hopeless, relying on sharp observation and the famous shout of objection to dismantle false testimony. Mayoi Ayasato (Aoi Yuki) assists him, while his mentor Chihiro Ayasato (Chie Nakamura) and rival prosecutor Reiji Mitsurugi (Masashi Tamaki) sharpen every courtroom clash. The engine of the show is simple and satisfying: each episode builds a murder case from a tangle of witnesses, alibis and physical clues, and the moment a single contradiction surfaces drives the tension. Across two seasons of forty-seven episodes, the series mixes comic courtroom theatrics with grave stakes and gradually reveals connected threads from Naruhodou's childhood. Its tone is playful yet tense, with case-of-the-week structure building into longer mysteries. Fans of Phoenix Wright gameplay, Liar Game and Suits will find resonance in its underdog lawyer energy and puzzle-like trials.
