## Synopsis

Space Patrol Luluco (2016) is a Japanese animated science fiction comedy series produced by TRIGGER and broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS11. Set in Ogikubo, a designated district in the Milky Way where humans and aliens live together, the series follows Luluco (voiced by Mao Ichimichi), a middle school girl who insists she is an entirely ordinary student despite her cosmic surroundings. Her routine with her father is upended when the mysterious transfer student ΑΩ Nova (Junya Enoki) arrives and draws her into a world of space patrol heroics. Supporting voices including Mayumi Shintani as Midori and Tetsu Inada as Over Justice Honbuchou fill out a cast of quirky aliens and officers. The engine of each brief eight-minute episode is the gap between Luluco's deadpan normalcy and the absurd, often explosive space action happening around her. The series runs as a single thirteen-episode season, a compact, self-contained story with a stylized, comic register. Its breezy, irreverent tone and parody of space adventure conventions will appeal to fans of Space Dandy and Gintama, and anyone who enjoys the sudden, offbeat collision of school life with cosmic spectacle.
