## Synopsis

Anne Happy♪ (2016) is a Japanese anime slice of life comedy series produced by SILVER LINK. and aired on AT-X, adapted from a manga and running for a single twelve-episode season of roughly 24 minutes each. The story centers on class 1-7 at Tennomifune Academy, a homeroom where students with bad karma and chronic misfortune seem to have been gathered. Hibari, voiced by Haruka Shiraishi, meets the unlucky Hanako, voiced by Yumiri Hanamori, and the perennially unhealthy Botan, voiced by Kiyono Yasuno, on her first day of school. The engine of each episode is simple and concrete: the three try to turn everyday school life into a happy one, and each mishap, illness or bad break becomes the occasion for small comic set pieces and warm friendship. Teachers and classmates, including Kodaira-sensei and Saginomiya-sensei, orbit the trio. The tone is light, cheerful and gently absurd, with a wistful undercurrent about outcasts finding each other. Fans of Lucky Star and K-On! will find resonance in its ensemble of endearing, slightly off-kilter high school girls and its cozy, low-stakes charm.
