## Synopsis

Shadow of Truth (2016-2019) is an Israeli true crime docuseries created by Ari Pines, Mika Timor and Yotam Guendelman for HOT8. Told across two seasons and eight episodes, it returns to the 2006 killing of schoolgirl Tair Rada, whose body was found in a bathroom stall at her school. The engine of the series is a doubt that refuses to settle: Roman Zadorov confessed to the murder after a week of intense interrogation, yet he has been convicted three times and many still believe him innocent. Its participants include Tair's family, notably Ilana Rada and Shmuel Rada, alongside Zadorov himself, and each episode is built from a dense mosaic of interviews, photographs and archival material. The approach is methodical and patient, leaving no stone unturned as it tries to assemble a puzzle whose pieces keep shifting. Its tone is sober, probing and unsettling, with a steady emotional weight around grief and institutional doubt. Set in contemporary Israel, it carries the investigative rigor of a serialized documentary inquiry. Viewers who appreciate The Jinx, Serial and Making a Murderer will find the same appetite for evidence, ambiguity and the question of who gets believed.
