## Synopsis

Love in the Moonlight (2016) is a South Korean historical romance series created by Yoon Yi-soo for KBS2. Set in Joseon-era Korea, it follows Hong Ra-on (Kim You-jung), a young woman who has lived her whole life disguised as a man, as she enters the royal palace as a eunuch. Her double life pulls her into a close bond with Crown Prince Lee Yeong (Park Bo-gum), whose own position is fragile within a rigid court. Jung Jin-young plays Kim Yoon-seong, one of the palace figures whose loyalties and ambitions shape the intrigue around the couple. Across eighteen one-hour episodes in a single season, the story is built around disguise, close calls and the slow pull between two people who cannot openly acknowledge what they feel. Each episode layers light romcom banter and gentle slice-of-life moments with court politics, family tensions and melodramatic turns. The mood is sweet, warm and often playful, with lush period costumes and palace scenery giving the romance a glossy, cinematic feel. Fans of Mr. Sunshine, The Crowned Clown and Princess Hours will find resonance in its blend of royal-court setting, cross-dressing comedy and forbidden romance. The series is a single-season k-drama on KBS2 with an audience rating of 7.8 out of 10.
