## Synopsis

Feed the Beast (2016) is a American crime drama series created by Clyde Phillips for AMC, a one-season limited run of ten hour-long episodes. David Schwimmer plays Tommy Moran, a former ex-convict and restaurant hopeful who teams up with his old friend Dion Patras, played by Jim Sturgess, to pursue a dusty pipe dream of opening an upscale restaurant in their hometown of the Bronx. Lorenza Izzo plays Pilar Herrera, a figure drawn into their orbit. Their engine is simple and urgent: they are on the brink of losing everything and must somehow make a restaurant work while the New York restaurant world's underbelly keeps pulling them under. Each episode threads the kitchen grind and the hunt for financing against petty criminals, corrupt officials and violent mobsters who demand their cut. The tone is gritty and bruised, with grief and self-destruction running beneath the ambition. Set in a contemporary Bronx and Manhattan dining scene, the show blends working-class street texture with the glamour of fine dining. Fans of Ray Donovan and Boardwalk Empire will find resonance in its mix of mob pressure, family loyalty and a battered hero hungry for a second chance.
