## Synopsis

Doctors (2016) is a South Korean medical drama series created by Ha Myung-hee and broadcast on SBS, produced under the Pan Entertainment banner. Kim Rae-won plays Hong Ji-hong, a compassionate teacher whose faith in a recalcitrant, delinquent teen girl sets the story in motion, and Park Shin-hye plays Yoo Hye-jeong, the young woman who must rebuild herself from a hopeless past into a street-savvy neurosurgeon. Yoon Kyun-sang and Lee Sung-kyung round out the principal cast as colleagues and rivals in the demanding hospital world. The engine of the series is one student's struggle to earn a place in medicine, with each episode built from surgical cases, ward politics, and personal histories that catch up with the characters. Presented as a single season of twenty hour-long episodes, it is one continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format. The tone blends earnest emotional stakes with lighter comic moments and a stubborn sense of hope. Set in contemporary South Korea, its hospital corridors and classrooms give the story a grounded, urban feel. Fans of Good Doctor, Hospital Playlist and Grey's Anatomy will find resonance in its mix of medical stakes and redemption.
